After exploring Tbilis our tour is continued to Kakheti, Georgia’s wine-growing countryside known for beautiful churches and monasteries. Via Mtskheta, the ancient capital of Georgia we journey to the heart of the Caucasus Mountains and explore the neighbourhood of Stepantsminda located at the foot of Mt. Kazbek. Via Kutaisi we travel to the Black Sea and stay in Batumi and stay there for two nights. Or travel back to Tbilisi. No tour will be complete in Georgia without tasting Georgian wines and delicious cuisine.
Itinerary: Day 1: Arrive Tbilisi. Day 2: Full day city tour of Tbilisi with excursions to the old part of the city, major museums, churches and architectural monuments, and other sites of this fascinating city. Overnight in Tbilisi. Day 3: Day 3: Trip to Kakheti province and visit Sighnaghi hill-town, Telavi, Tsinandali Estate, Alaverdi Cathedral and a winery for wine tasting. Return to Tbilisi. Day 4: Excursion to Mtskheta, the ancient capital of Georgia. Drive north to the Greater Caucasus to Stepantsminda (Kazbegi). Explore the area. Stay in Stepantsminda. Day 5: Trip to Kutaisi. En route visit Ananuri, Gori and Uplistsikhe. Stay in Kutaisi. Day 6: Visit Gelati Monastery (Optional tour to Martvili Canyon). Arrive in Batumi. Day 7: Explore Batumi. Day 8: Departure from Batumi Airport or if your flight is from Tbilisi, then after city tour of Batumi on Day 7, travel back to Tbilisi for your return flight next day.
