One of our most popular holidays, involving some of the country’s top destinations. The itinerary gives an excellent insight into Georgia, its ancient history, medieval churches, culture and diversity of landscape, From the wine-growing countryside of Kakheti to the heart of the Caucasus Mountains. The climax is the trip to Svaneti province in the heart of the Central Caucasus surrounded by mighty 5000 metre peaks. We explore the remote villages lying at their feet and admire their unique towers and discovery of ancient local cultures preserved for thousands of years. We journey down to the Black Sea and stay in Batumi for two night exploring its old city and enjoy walking in the nice boulevard.
Day 1: Arrive Tbilisi. Day 2: Full day city tour of Tbilisi. Day 3: Tour to Kakheti provinceto visitSt. Nino Monastery in Bodbe, Sighnaghi hill town, Tsinandali and stay in Telavi. Day 4: Visit Gremi Church, Nekresi Monastery and Alaverdi Cathedral. Optional visit to a winery. Return to Tbilisi. Day 5: Excursion in Mtskheta, the ancient capital of Georgia. We continue driving along the river Aragvi Valley and Georgian Military Highway. On the road visit Ananuri. We cross the Greater Caucasus down to Kazbegi (Stepantsminda). Overnight in Kazbegi. Hotel. Day 6: Walk up to Gergeti Sameba Church.Explore the area and enjoy the views of the surrounding summits, including Mt. Kazbek. For more hiking we offer trip to Sno valley to reach village Juta, where from we can take 2 – 4 hour hiking to the circuit of Chaukhi Mountains. Stay in Kazbegi. Day 7: Drive to visit Gori and Uplistsikhe ancient cave-city. Arrive in Borjomi. Day 8: Excursion to Vardzia cave-monastery. We explore Akhaltsikhe Castle. Continue to western part of the country and arrive in Kutaisi. Day 9: Visit Gelati Monastery. Drive to Mestia, Svaneti province. Day 10: Mestia is surrounded by huge Caucasus Mountains as Ushba (4710m) and Tetnuldi (4975m) – some of the most severe and beautiful summits of the Caucasus. Visit Svanetian towers and Mestia Museum. Day 11: Travel to village Ushguli. Visit the village, its medieval towers and enjoy the views ofMt. Shkhara (5201m). Return to Mestia. Day 12: Trip to the Black Sea coast to Batumi. En route optional trips to Martvili Canyon or Okatse Canyon or visit Batumi Botanical Gardens. Arrive in Batumi. Hotel. Day 13: City tour of Batumi to visit old and new part and walk in the nice boulevard. Enjoy the evening by the sea or with a drink at the Piazza. Overnight in Batumi. Day 14: A long trip back to Tbilisi. Hotel. Day 15: End of the tour.
